Craft Hair Studio

Welcome to Tulo Beauty

Hi, I'm Jeanne.

I focused the first half of my career on mastering my craft of hairdressing, learning new techniques, testing the latest products and surrounding myself with only the best in the field of hairdressing. I have spent the second half gaining my PhD in life and in business. I was fortunate to take a leap of faith and mentor closely under one of the all-time greats, Horst Rechelbacher, for three years, including traveling as an educator, and have continued a relationship with the company in which he started.

In 2017, I was asked to attend a meeting that blossomed into an inspirational project: the Brenden-Mann Foundation, a Wellness Center at the University of Minnesota’s Masonic Children’s Hospital. That invitation lead to big rewards in healing my own cancer wounds and pushing past personal fears by volunteering my time and skills in a beautiful, one-of-a-kind salon space. The salon space was awarded “Best in Facility Design” by the Minnesota Business Magazine in 2018. As an extension of my work with children, I will continue to work in my studio with parents looking for hair loss solutions for their children through an organization known as Wigs for Kids.

My journey has offered me opportunities to feed my inspiration for people, craftsmanship, and well-made products from around this great place we call planet earth. I am bringing my passion, craft skills and vision to my community of Northeast Minneapolis on the corner of 28th Avenue and the iconic Johnson Street. I am humbled and honored to work in the community that I live in and see the great neighbors and friends that occupy this stellar area of Minneapolis. I am truly coming home.

Yours in service,

Jeanne J. McCoy

My cancer diagnosis, like many, was a surprise. Chemo started about four weeks later. Hair loss would be 100%. It started to come out about 2 weeks after my first treatment. Through a friend, I got in touch with Jeanne. She came to my house and cut my hair a few inches at a time until I had the perfect pixie. It was so nice to be in the comfort of my own home. Fast forward a few months and Tulo Beauty is born. This will be an amazing resource for anyone affected by cancer.

I have a brand new head of curly hair after going through chemo treatments last year and was referred to Jeanne by a friend. Jeanne understood how to handle my fragile hair, and suggested some amazing natural products to help my hair reach it’s full potential. Jeanne checked in with me to be sure I was happy with the cut and to follow up on some questions I had about hair color. I know Jeanne is a talented pro, not only from my own experience but the friend that referred me to her is always rocking an amazing hairstyle.

I’ve been going to Jeanne for 10 years and she’s just the best. Sometimes I just want a trim, other times a whole new style and Jeanne always knows what works best for my hair. It’s like a mini spa day every time I get my hair cut, I love it. I highly recommend Jeanne.
